A Personal Prophetic Word

A PERSONAL PROPHETIC WORD

Sometimes, God gives His disciples a strong, personal word. I just received a powerful, personal word from the Lord, but while I was receiving itthe Lord gave me another word. The second word was clear; this prophecy was also for the members of my family, and for all those who are connected with me in some godly way. At the start of this year, this word has brought a strong new focus and postured me for the year ahead. Before sharing more, I do not want to limit the possible scope of this prophecy. This word maybe for all Christians in the USA or even the world, but I am sharing the power of this word specifically for those whom the Lord told me it was for. If you are reading this and do not even know me, that’s okay, this may be for you as well. Perhaps the Lord will personalize it for you in a powerful way. I have often said that there are two verses in the Bible; the one that tells us the purpose and plans of God, and the other where He makes it personal for us. That is what the Lord gave me when I opened my Bible a few weeks ago. It was as if the words jumped off the page and into my lap. The prophecy includes the entire chapter of Isaiah 54, but it began with these words, “Do not hold back” (Isaiah 54:2).

GOD’s POWERFUL WORD

This word is for your walk as a disciple, your relationships, your business and your ministry. The phrase, “Do not hold back” is encapsulated in the middle of two verses. Here they are: “Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes. For you will spread out to the right and to the left: your descendants will dispossess nations and settle in their desolate cities” (Isaiah 54:2-3).

This Scripture was first and foremost given as a promise to the people of Israel. It also has a spiritual application for all believers. It would seem that some verses like, “your descendants will dispossess nations” (referring to Israel conquering Canaan and other nations) apply specifically to the Jews. I do not know that Christians are literally called to go and dispossess nations.

The entire chapter of Isaiah 54 is first for the Jews, but the essence of it is for the church as well. After speaking to us with so many blessings, it concludes with an amazing word, “‘This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and this is their vindication from me,’ declares the Lord” (Isaiah 54:17b).

THE HERITAGE AND VINDICATION

There are steps of faith and obedience required in order for us to receive this heritage and vindication. We will speak of our responsibilities later, but first we will look at the promises.

1. You will give birth to many children. This is even for those who are barren or have no husband. The desolate will have more than those with a husband. Application: Unexpectedly, you will be blessed with great increase, and this will extend far beyond any logical explanation. (Isaiah 54:1)

2. You will spread out to the right and the left and your descendants will own and occupy other nations. Application: This is a literal promise for Israel. For the Church it means expansion everywhere, including our influence, ministry, authority, and power over the kingdom of darkness. This is for the saving of souls and a political and grassroots shift that changes the culture around us, to put Jesus first and embrace godliness. (Isaiah 54:3)

3. You will not suffer shame, disgrace or the humiliation of your youth, or the reproach of your divorce or widowhood. Application: The Lord Jesus is your Redeemer, He will call you back, forgive you, and receive you. (Isaiah 54:4-9)

4. Great riches will come to you because of God’s unfailing love and compassion. You have faced many storms, but God will rebuild your city with sparkling gem stones. Application: The Lord will prosper you so that every area of your life will shine with success. This is not just about money, but also great success in all that you do. This applies to your relationships, business, finances, Church and community. (Isaiah 54:10-12)

5. The Lord will teach your children and they will live in great peace. Application: Your biological and spiritual children will walk in the ways of the Lord, and His peace will live within them and shine around them. (Isaiah 54:113)

6. The Lord will protect you so that you will have victory over all who attack you. And, no weapon formed against you will prosper. Application: You have nothing to fear. You may still be attacked, but God will give you victory. (Isaiah 54:14-17a)

7. You will be able to refute every tongue that slanders you. Application: You will proclaim truth and defend a godly lifestyle. This proclamation is for your personal life, family, church and godly leaders in your nation. (Isaiah 54:17b)

8. God will give you these promises as a heritage and He will vindicate you. Application: First, a heritage includes your quality of life and the values you pass on to the next generation. Secondly, God will vindicate you because you are his child. He will make sure that these blessings come to you. (Isaiah 54:17c)

OUR RESPONSIBILITIES

As with every prophecy, there is an appointed time for its fulfillment. Even when it is the right time, there are conditions for the fulfillment of personal prophecies. Here are the responsibilities connected with these promises. I will list them as found in this chapter and give only a word of direction.

1. Sing, burst into song and shout for joy. (Have excitable faith– vs. 1)
2. Enlarge the place of your tent. (Envision and plan for success – vs. 2)
3.
Stretch your tent curtains wide. (Take calculated risks– vs. 2)
4.
Do not hold back. (Jump forward– vs. 2)
5.
Lengthen your cords. (Leave your comfort zone– vs. 2)
6.
Strengthen your stakes. (Obey the Lord in every way, and fortify your administration – vs. 2)
7.
Do not be afraid. (Have great faith– vs.4)
8.
Forget your past failures. (Look forward to a bright future – vs. 4)
9. Refute every tongue that slanders. (Boldly defend the faith – vs. 17)

THE ALL IMPORTANT CONCLUSION

In only a couple of weeks, already see fresh success and expansion in the ministry. Furthermore, the Lord supernaturally confirmed this prophecy to me with a second Scripture. These verses are for you! “Then the Lord your God will make you most prosperous in all the work of your hands …. The Lord will again delight in you and make you prosperous …. If you obey the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul” (Deuteronomy 30:9- 10).
