250 Years Lord Heal Our Land

250 YEARS LORD HEAL OUR LAND

Second only to the Lord’s Prayer, is the prayer encounter where God says, “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land” (II Chronicles 7:14).

Although it was originally given to the Jewish people, now there are many people in the world who are called by His name. Bible believing Christians are called by His name, and that means that this promise is for them as well. It is an amazing, three-part promise. God will; hear from heaven, forgive our sin, and heal our land.

HEALING THE LAND

The soil, the trees, the water, the atmosphere and all living creatures make up Earth’s environment, and it is definitely in need of healing. Ultimately, the healing of the Earth’s environment (the land) is part of God’s promise, and it will be fulfilled just after His second coming.

A more imminent healing is also needed and promised, if God’s people will meet His conditions.  The healing of the land refers to the healing of humanity – the healing of our nation, the healing of our hearts, the healing of relationships in families and in society, and especially our reconciliation with God. This can only happen as He hears our prayers and forgives us of our sins. So, we must pray, seek His face, and turn from our wicked ways.

When God promises to heal our land, He is referring to righteousness, peace and joy being restored in our communities and in our nation. It is God’s intention that the United States will be a land of kindness, justice and love. Scripture says, “He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God” (Micah 6:8).

JEWISH HISTORY

These conditional promises from God were first given to Israel. God instructed King David to build the temple. The task was fulfilled by his son, King Solomon. During the feast of Tabernacles, the construction of the temple was finally finished and dedicated to the Lord.

According to the Jewish calendar, on Friday, the fifteenth of Tishrei, in the year 960 BC, which is approximately September 25th , 960 years before Christ was born, the temple was completed (Read II Chronicles 5 to 7 for details). “And they brought up the ark and the Tent of Meeting and all the sacred furnishings in it. The priests, who were Levites, carried them up; and King Solomon and the entire assembly of Israel that had gathered about him were before the ark, sacrificing so many sheep and cattle that they could not be recorded or counted” (II Chronicles 5:5-6).

Then King Solomon knelt down before all of the people of Israel on a platform he had built in the temple’s outer court. He stretched out his hands to the Lord and prayed a humble, amazing, expansive prayer. On behalf of Israel, he asked the Lord for forgivness, mercy and help in time of need. He dedicated the temple to the Lord as a house of prayer. “When Solomon finished praying, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices, and the glory of the Lord filled the temple. The priests could not enter the temple of the Lord because the glory of the Lord filled it” (II Chronicles 7:1).

When all the people of Israel saw this, they knelt with their faces to the ground and rededicated themselves to the Lord. Then, “The Lord appeared to him [Solomon] at night and said: “I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for myself as a temple for sacrifices. When I shut up heaven so that there is no rain, or command locust to devour the land or send a plague among my people, if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place. I have chosen this temple so that my Name may be there forever. My eyes and my heart will always be there” (II Chronicles 7:12-16).

NOT JUST FOR JEWS

God heard and answered Solomon’s prayer, and interestingly enough, he prayed for the USA and the other nations of the world. He said, “As for the foreigner who does not belong to your people Israel but has come from a distant land because of your great name and your mighty hand and your outstretched arm when he comes and prays toward this temple, then hear from heaven, your dwelling place, and do whatever the foreigner asks of you, so that all the peoples of the earth may know your name and fear you, as do your own people, Israel” (II Chronicles 6:32-33).

HOPE FOR AMERICA

On May 17, 2026, our president, Donald Trump, and his administration, rededicated our nation to the Lord. We are called to remember that we are one nation under God. Prayers and proclamations to this effect are coming from the highest office in the land. Churches and people all across America are encouraged to participate in this solemn time of prayer, and also to celebrate the faithfulness of God over our nation. This is in preparation for the upcoming 250th year anniversary of the founding of the USA. Unless the Lord builds the house we labor in vain, unless the Lord keeps us, the watchmen watch in vain.

The Senate and the House made the following statements in 1853 and 1854 respectively; “We are a Christian people…not because the law demands it…but from choice,” and “At the time of the adoption of the Constitution and the amendments, the universal sentiment was that Christianity should be encouraged…In this age there can be no substitute for Christianity…That was the religion of the founders of the republic and they expected it to remain the religion of their descendants.”

Our first president, George Washington wrote, “It is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, [and] to obey His will.”

USA 250 Years 1776-2026
FIRE FROM HEAVEN

During this season of dedication and celebration, may the fire from heaven and the glory of the Lord fill our land. May souls be saved, may the name of Jesus be lifted high, and may revival sweep across the nation. May our churches be filled, may the Bible be preached and may our families make Jesus the priority and center of our homes. The Lord is compassionate and His faithfulness endures forever, to all generations. “Heavenly Father, come and heal our land! Heal the USA!”
