THE PEACEMAKERS
Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called the sons of God. Two Bible prophecies are coming into focus. In the last days there will be wars and rumors of wars, and secondly, Israel will be attacked again in the future. For now, we are very thankful to see a great victory. The final hostages of the horrific October 7th attack on Israel have come home. It appears the war has stopped in the Middle East and people on both sides are rejoicing. President Donald Trump got the Arab nations to agree to his 20-point plan for peace and prosperity. And all the while, he and the US government remained firm in their commitment to Israel. Most people believe that Donald Trump should have received the Nobel Peace Prize. He was not only instrumental in bringing an end to this conflict but was also responsible for bringing seven other international wars to an end. He is a peacemaker.
THE GReATER IS HERE
Jesus said that the queen of the South traveled to Israel to receive the wisdom of King Solomon and that one greater than Solomon is here. Even though Solomon was so wise and so wealthy, Jesus was and is much greater. We say that Donald Trump is a great peacemaker but one much greater than Donald Trump is here.
Jesus is the Prince of Peace. He said, “My peace I give to you.” His is a kingdom of righteousness, peace and joy. The fruit of the Holy Spirit gives us a picture of the character that is in the heart of Christ. It includes love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. One of these characteristics is peace and we are encouraged to fill our lives with His peace.
When Jesus was born, a multitude of angels proclaimed, “Glory to God in the highest and on earth, peace to all men of good will.” The peace proclamation was spoken at His birth, and throughout His ministry He brought peace. Then, 33 years after His birth, He died on the cross and in His death, His message of peace was repeated. Because of His crucifixion, Scripture says, “He himself is our peace, who has made the two one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility…His purpose was to create in himself one new man of the two, thus making peace…He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near” (Ephesians 2:14-17). On the cross, Jesus paid for the Jews and the Gentiles to be made one in Himself. He is our peace.
One week before this monumental peace agreement in the Middle East, almost the entire world was against Israel. Three quarters of United Nations delegates walked out of the room when Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu got up to address the nations. Now, most nations are applauding Israel, and many want to establish a financial alliance with them. Things can turn around in a moment of time.
God’s blessings are covering Israel, the United States and His church around the world. This present movement for peace in the Middle East is a continuation of God’s blessing, and it points toward His eternal plan. Amazingly, it is the third time that President Trump has been in step with God’s eternal plan for Israel.
First, he moved the location of the US embassy to Israel’s capital city of Jerusalem. Secondly, he established the Abraham Accords and brought four Arab nations into trade agreements and normalized relations with Israel. Thirdly, he has brought the Arab nations into a peace agreement with Israel, to hopefully end this war with Hamas, quiet the terrorists, and include many more nations in the Abraham Accords with Israel.
These three directives are monumental in their importance. They line up with God’s plan and His call for intercessors to pray for Israel until He makes her the praise of the whole earth (see Isaiah 62:6-7). Donald Trump is a peacemaker and God used him to initiate a magnificent step that points toward Israel’s promised acceptance by the world (see also Isaiah 60:1-4). In time, Israel will become the praise of the whole world. Israel is called, “The Promised Land” and the Jews are called, “The Chosen People”. All people enter the family of God through Jesus alone. One greater than all other peacemakers is here, and in time, the Lord will restore all things with His rule of peace.
THREE LEVEL OF PEACE
There are three levels of peace that we look for now, and Jesus brings all of them into reality. We need peace in our personal lives, peace in our relationships and peace in our nation and around the world.
Many individual lives are broken down because of sin. The walls of security and stability have been smashed because of drugs, alcohol, corruption, abuse, lust and perversions of all kinds. Some people are so broken that they cannot help themselves anymore. The Lord looks for a person who can help them. He looks for someone to build up the wall and stand in the gap for others (see Ezekiel 22:30). Then, Jesus miraculously gives them peace.
So many relationships are also broken. We have dysfunctional families, hostile relationships in the workplace, and even relational strife in the Church. We need the fruit of the Holy Spirit in our lives. With humble hearts, forgiveness, patience and kindness we can find peace with our fellow man. This is possible only with God’s help.
The third level where peace is needed is in our nation and around the world. Not since the days of the Civil War has America been so divided. We also see new wars constantly emerging around the world. One might think that humanity has learned its lesson by now; but not so. Still, blessed are the peacemakers. We need them and they need God’s help, for only He can bring lasting peace to America and to the world.
BLESSED ARE THE PEACEMAKERS
On one occasion Jesus said that he did not come to bring peace but a sword. That is because we never make peace with Satan, or wickedness, or with addiction or abuse. We fight them and cut them off in Jesus’ name.
If you, however, are a wounded, broken soul, do not lose heart; the Prince of Peace is here. Through salvation, deliverance and God’s love, you can be restored. Then, once the walls of your life have been rebuilt, the Lord will take you to a new level. He will post you on top of the wall to be a minister that watches over and helps others find His peace (see Isaiah 62:6-7).
You are called to be a peacemaker. When you become one, then the blessings of God come to you. Jesus said, “Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called the sons of God” (Matthew 5:9).
