GOD SHINES BRIGHTER
In the very darkest times, when Christians rise up and witness for Christ, miracles happen. In most cases, God does not bring darkness, although during the events of the Exodus and when Jesus hung on the cross, God brought darkness as a judgment against sin and slavery. Almost always, however, darkness is a horror brought by demons in order to produce intense chaos and destruction. That is what happened when Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, was assassinated recently in broad daylight. I am reminded of what Scripture says about Christ’s death. “But we speak…the hidden wisdom which God ordained…which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory” (1 Corinthians 2:7-8). The devil meant it for evil but through Christ’s death, salvation came to the human race, and the gospel has spread around the world. When Charlie was killed, his message only grew and it will continue to grow exponentially, with multitudes coming to Christ. A vast movement has now been unleashed, and revival will follow. If the demons knew, they would not have killed Charlie Kirk.
GOD SHINES BRIGHTER
We see this pattern in Scripture and in history. Whenever Satan strikes down the martyrs, the church grows, and the purposes of God leap forward. Nebuchadnezzar threw the three Hebrew boys into the fire. They were not only protected by the Lord, but when they came out unharmed, Nebuchadnezzar promoted them and made an international decree that everyone should honor the Lord of Creation.
Even the demonic Nazi holocaust, arguably the worst trauma in human history, where six million Jews and so many others were murdered, was turned around to result in the most amazing fulfillment of prophetic Scripture in the modern era. The state of Israel was reborn and the end-time blessings of God, promised for the people of Israel, finally began to unfold.
When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will raise up a standard against him. It is at a time when gross darkness comes on the earth that the glory of God will shine through and be the brightest. “Arise and shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and his glory appears over you. Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn” (Isaiah 60:1-3).
This prophesy was given to the Jewish people, but it is also for all of God’s people. The Church will see amazing revivals around the world, and Charlie Kirk’s death will prove to be part of that unstoppable, international blessing. Every time and in every situation, God always shines brighter. Even the Great Tribulation, which will be the worst time period in all of human history, will result in the return of the Lord and the setting up of His kingdom on the earth.
Death is our last enemy, so we always resist it and fight for life. For believers in Christ, death is just a passageway to eternal life. Paul said it was better to go and be with the Lord than to remain here in the flesh. I love my life, my family, and I love people, and I love serving God here and now. Still, when it is my time, I will not shrink back or be afraid. I fight for life, but I fight for the Lord and also for others. Christians who walk with God cannot lose. Death has absolutely no victory over God’s people. Whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s.
CHARLIE AND STEPHEN
Charlie followed in the footsteps of Stephen, the first Christian martyr. Stephen was stoned to death after debating with the enemies of Christ and proclaiming the plan of God to them. When he was breathing his last breath he said, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them” (Acts 7:60). Perhaps Charlie said something similar when he took his last breath. At the recent memorial service to honor Charlie, his wife Erika said, “I forgive this man who murdered my husband.”
Following the stoning of Stephen, persecution broke out against the Church, and Saul went everywhere arresting Christians and dragging them into jail. The gospel also went everywhere. The believers were scattered, and they went everywhere preaching about Jesus. Revival came and the Church saw explosive growth.
POWER IN THE ATMOSPHERE
What we speak into the air has power. We see it today here in America. Many have spoken out against the gospel and the teachings of Charlie Kirk. Some have even said, “He deserved to die.” Their voices on the airwaves have caused evil spirits to be emboldened, and many who have talked with me have had demons show up in their dreams this week and others say they can feel the darkness in the atmosphere.
This demonic attack, however, was short-lived. Many believers started to speak up for Christ and some of those negative people in the media have been fired from their jobs. Churches are taking a stand, and many rallies and memorials have preached Jesus and the message of salvation. As a result, the evil spirits have been quieted. The atmosphere is changing as Christians have spoken out with the love of God and the angels are becoming emboldened. Now peace and joy are filling the air.
PHILIP THE EVANGELIST
After Stephen was stoned, Philip went to Samaria and proclaimed Christ (Christ means Messiah in Hebrew). He prayed and demons came out of many with loud shrieks. Also, many cripples and paralyzed people were healed. People were baptized in water and there was great joy in that city. The same thing will happen here in America and also around the world.
CHARLIE’S VICTORY
At Charlie Kirk’s memorial service, 100 thousand people attended in person. Besides this number, it is said that over 100 million, across America and around the world, watched on TV. I watched and witnessed the most powerful Holy Spirit meeting, for such a large group, that I have ever seen. The gospel of Christ Jesus was preached repeatedly by various speakers and many stood to their feet to respond to the altar call for salvation. In just three weeks after Charlie’s death, over 100,000 people have asked to start a new Turning Point chapter in their School or university. This exceeded Charlie’s expectation but not God’s expectation. It is right on target.
GOD SHINES BRIGHTER
This is just the beginning. God’s word is true; when gross darkness comes, He and His people shine brighter. It is time for you to join the team. Shine for Jesus, do not back down. Do your part to see revival come to America and to the nations of the world.
