Children Smiling Together

Signs and wonders are the testimonies that tell us that God is with us. They release faith and allow us to believe the unbelievable. God has always shown up with miraculous signs and wonders.

“No prophet has risen … like Moses … who did all those miraculous signs and wonders the Lord sent him to do … No one has ever shown the mighty power or performed the awesome deeds that Moses did.” De. 34:10-12.

CALLED TO BE SIGNS AND WONDERS

Isaiah said, “Here I am, and the children the Lord has given me. We are signs and wonders in Israel from the Lord Almighty, who dwells on Mount Zion.” Isa. 8:18

The Lord said, “Ezekiel will be a sign to you.” Ez. 24:24

Jesus said, “As Jonah was a sign to the Ninevites, so also will the Son of Man [Jesus] be to this generation.” Lk. 11:30

God sent Jesus, Jonah, Isaiah, Ezekiel, all the disciples of Israel and so many others to be signs to their generation and to the world. He sets us in place to be more than believers and do-gooders. He plans to make us a sign and a wonder in the world.

YOUR CALLING AND POSITION

Paul recognized the high calling of God over his life (see Phi. 3:14). All Christians have this calling. It is not just what we do, but who we are. The community around us should know that we carry the fragrance and purpose of God. We bring His government to every situation; to the minutia, to the massive, to a moment and to the multitudes.

“For we are to God the aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing. To the one we are the smell of death; to the other, the fragrance of life.” 2 Cor. 2:15-16

We are the salt of the earth and must not sidestep our confrontational calling. Christians are meant to be noticed and to be effective in this world.

“Become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe.” Phi. 2:15

Daniel said it like this, “Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness like the stars forever and ever.” Da. 12:3

It is time to see ourselves in a new light. Not with arrogance and pride but rather seeing ourselves with a powerful mantle of purpose and mission. The Lord did not save us just for our benefit. He saved us for His purpose, that we might represent Him. When people see us, they should see Christ.

A LAST-DAYS ANOINTING

The book of Revelation highlights the end of the age and our transition into the millennial reign of Christ. It says the greatest revivals are still in the future and angels and people will bring in the harvest. This calls for a dynamic shift in our thinking. John said he received this book of Revelation for the testimony of Jesus (see Rev. 1:9). The end-time anointing involves God’s people shining with His testimony. It is not only our spoken testimony, but our lives are to be a testimony. We carry the anointing of the Lord; we are clothed with the power from on high. We are a constant confrontation to the devil and a lighthouse of hope and salvation to those who are perishing.

Revelation says, “Now when they had finished their testimony.” Rev. 11:7 In the last days, something will be accomplished, completed and finished. The great testimony-calling is our mission and mandate. We shine brightly in the midst of evil and multitudes see the power of Christ among them, and turn from darkness to light.

We will be a sign and a wonder in the last days and will overcome the devil and his wicked assignments. “They overcame him [the devil] by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.” Rev. 12:11

UNUSUAL RISK-TAKING

Last week, I dreamt I was talking with a prominent prophet in the nation. We were having a friendly talk about people in our church congregations. I noticed how many in the dream were attracted to him. As I was waking, the Lord told me this man was a sign and a wonder. It was not that he alone was a sign sent from God, but he was a type and an example of what God was releasing among His people. Like him, many people will become signs and wonders in the world, days to come.

I have noticed a sudden increase of people stepping out with risky confidence to do something for God that they have never done before. Often, what they are doing seems beyond their capabilities, and just a couple of years ago they would not have dreamed they would be engaging in such an enormous mission.

It is more than the negative political climate that has inspired people to step up and fight for righteousness. They are becoming signs and wonders in the world. God is igniting new fires and releasing fresh vision; He is bringing His people to the forefront so they may be seen. He did it with Joseph in Egypt and Daniel in Babylon. They were just about invisible until God catapulted them to the forefront and made them signs and wonders among the nations.

BE READY

As light and darkness become more polarized and more extreme, believers will be transforming politics, prisons, schools, family planning, the media and churches. Revivals will break forth as confrontations become more intense.

You are a child of God’s kingdom.

You are called to be more than just a nice Christian; you are the light of the world.

You are called to be a sign and a wonder sent from God. The community should know who you are, where you live and what you can do through Christ who strengthens you.

You are a bright shining sign from God in the community.

You are a wonder because people constantly see the amazing results of your life and testimony.
